New Community Church Sweetheart Banquet 2007
“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). By God’s grace, Alex was a new creature in Christ. This memorial is designed to proclaim "the excellencies of God" who called him "out of darkness into His marvelous light". Book of Remembrance

Alex truly was an ambassador for Scotland here in Missouri. He was an active supporter of our local St. Andrew's Society, and our members came to view him and Carrie as extended family -- how many times I have heard people say that "it just wouldn't be a Scottish event without Alex!"
Alex made Scotland come alive for so many people, especially those of us who are proud of our own Scottish heritage.
More importantly, he was a good friend and a true gentleman, and we will never forget him.
Burns once wrote: "an honest man's the noble[est] work of God." That quote is our tribute to our "cronie".

We will definitely miss our fellow Scottish folk entertainer immensely! From the first time we met, with his huge smile and magnetic personality, we knew we have found a fellow friend indeed. We have played with and come across many musicians and performers in this celtic music world and we can definitely tell you Alex was one of the nicest people anywhere in the Celtic world.
We wish Carrie and her famly our deepest prayers.
We believe God's Ceilidh band just got better!!

I first met Alex in 2000, through Peter Wollenberg, one of the Cronies. Alex always made me feel welcome, had a smile on his face and a word of encouragement for any situation. Seeing him was always good for your soul.
And his music! What a treat everytime I heard he & his band play to not only enjoy the music, but see the smiles on everyone's faces. He kept the music of Scotland alive.
There is now a gaping hole in the fabric of Scottish society. To quote Todd, "....he was a good friend and a true gentleman." He will never been forgotten, and who cannot see why God wanted him at his side.
